Daily Tips for Hydraulic Breakers
Grease frequently and properly. Apply grease every 2–3 working hours. Don’t overdo it – you should see a small amount of old grease squeezed out. Grease not only lubricates but also keeps dust out of the cylinder, extending service life.
No idle strikes or prying. Always position the tool bit vertically and firmly against the rock before starting. Stop immediately once the rock breaks to avoid idle strikes (the piston hitting the housing). Never use the tool bit to pry or move rocks sideways – this can easily break the bit.
Control striking time. If a spot doesn’t break after 30 seconds of continuous striking, move to a new position. This prevents hydraulic oil from overheating and degrading prematurely.
Daily three-point check. Before starting work: inspect the tool bit for wear (replace if worn), check hydraulic hoses for leaks, and listen for a crisp, steady striking sound. After work, set the breaker vertically on the ground and retract the piston to prevent dust from being drawn in.
